I'm about to pick up my new cz75 duty. I really prefer no less than 4 mags for my pistols, and really like to have about ten for any gun I'm gonna keep. and I don't plan on getting rid of this thing..it is the 07 polymer duty model. 16 rnd 9mm, what should I expect to pay, any good place to buy them, and is there any mags to look for or stay away from?

yeah they use a different mag.. at least they say they do. it's a 16 round 9mm mag.. I thought I read somewhere they are higher capacity.

The Mecgars have SUCKED in use with my CZ75.

I know some claim they're the manufacturer of CZ OEM mags, but I don't believe it for a second.

I will only use CZ Factory Mags w/my CZ75, period. And yes, they are very expensive (just like Sig and Kahr mags).

I have never heard of anyone having issues with mecgars in CZ pistols. I am not sure if mecgar is the OEM these days but they have been in the past. The are one of Sigs oems too.

In Wyatt way did the mecgars fail?

JQP, really? I used almost only Mec-Gars with my CZs, a PCR, a 97B, and a 40B, and they all worked exactly as they should have. The guns in general worked perfectly. What problem did you have?

NG VI - tons of FTFs, only using aftermarket Mecs. On same range sessions, going back to factory CZ mags, zero problems.

This was 4 years ago, and I haven't used them since.

Maybe they've upped their game since then.

If you have a P-07 (polymer), then it has different mags than the rest of the CZ line and the only ones available are CZ. If you have a CZ-75 (steel) then the mec-gars are great and relatively cheap, check CDNN

They have been the OEM for a long time IIRC. The pre B gun mags were Mecgar. I have used them in PCRs, P01s, CZ75Bs, 75B Compacts etc... they have always functioned properly. You could have gotten a bad batch but honestly you are the first person who I know of to have trouble with them?

Was you gun a pre B gun?

Maybe someone else can comment but I am pretty sure they are the current OEM.

The pre B gun mags were Mecgar.
Don't think so.

I was a senior moderator on the CZ Forum for a number of years, and this was a regular topic on that forum for hundreds of participants during that period struggling to find good mags for their pre-Bs.

As far as I know, CZ made their own mags for much of the pre-B production period, and then farmed some of it out to various makers when they couldn't keep up with the demand. Mec-Gar didn't become the OEM provider until relatively recently -- (2002-2003?), long after pre-B production had ended.

While Mec-Gar-made mags look identical to CZ factory mags, looks can be deceiving. I've had CZ "factory" 10-round mags that had "Pro-Mag" markings on the paper inserts in the bags, that were identical to other CZ factory mags. Mec-Gar CZ factory mags appear to be made to slightly different specs than the after-market mags made by Mec-Gar for the CZ.

I've had many CZs, including a number of pre-Bs, and have used a wide variety of CZ-type mags (ranging from RamLine, Pro-Mag, Tanfoglio and Witness, Magnum Research, Mec-Gar, etc.) in all of these guns. Most pre-Bs will not accept Mec-Gar 15-round mags, but will accept the 15-round mags that were shipped with the pre-B guns; they will accept many of the Tanfoglio mags, and will accept nearly all 10-round mags.

This is more of a GUN issue than a Mag issue, as the mag channels (for want of a better term) in the grip of the pre-Bs in the older CZ s are narrower at the top. Some late pre-Bs, called "transitionals," because they had some features of the newer guns, may accept either type of mag.

Why not buy CZ magazines direct?
3 pack of factory CZ mags @ $28 each
Mec-Gars direct from CZ are $25 each

Thats pretty reasonable. I just assumed they would be quite a bit more than that. I'm used to sig 226 mags at about 50.00 a pop

With a 9mm 75B, I use 6 Mec-Gar mags and have had no problems with somewhere around 25K rds through the gun. I've replaced the mag springs one time.
http://gregcotellc.com --$5 shipping
CDNN -- USPS reasonable shipping

Halfway decent price on the 3-pack but they are not for the P-07 Duty. I have several Mec-Gars and they work fine in the CZ75 SP-01 Phantom. Got them for $20 each at Midway.
