Any savage axis owners use darkeagle custom 10 round mags?

No experience with them but i would like to have a ten rounder for my axis but not bad enough to pay their asking price. I think I’d rather get 2 of the stock mags at that price

edit:after further reading it looks like the Lower portion of the magazines and the followers are machined aluminum. So with that in mind the price feels more responsible

No experience with either of those but...
Those single feed / double stack mags look pretty cool.

I have 10rd single stack factory mags on my Ruger & Savage Scout Rifles that are really cumbersome in the rifle. Would gladly switch to something like that.

The flush magazine from Savage work fine in the Scout and getting rid of that cumbersome extended magazine. The rifle suddenly becomes sleek and handy without the bulbous tacti-cool mag. Here is the factory extended magazine and the factory flush side by side:

The flush magazine is all metal.

I think I might have a different magwell than yours?

My axis is my only centerfire rifle with a DBM, so I never really looked at the price of magazines. What a surprise! I can't believe the factory mag is going for $50. I bought my rifle for about $200 when Gander was going out of business.

I guess I should have a second magazine for the rifle. If the factory plastic is $50, maybe I should get a nice metal extended mag for a bit more.

The Savage magazines are expensive but I wanted a flush bottom, I think the two flush I bought were $35 and I bought a second extended magazine and it was pricey! I like to carry my rifle when still hunting with my right had cradling at the balance point just in front of the trigger guard, cannot do that with the box magazine hanging out.

Those Darkeagle magazines look really nice for a Scout Gen III.

Not sure I would use a 10rd mag on my Savage Axis in 270 win. I have cuff on the but of the rifle with spare ammo.

That's about the same price you'll pay for factory Tikka CTR magazines. If the quality is there it might be worth it. I did find a spare for my Tikka priced closer to $80. I don't mind a magazine that extends a little below the stock, the Tikka I can live with, but some are just too much.
