Any suggestions on aftermarket new model Python rear sights?

Sorry I have been a few days replying, the wife isn't feeling well.
But she gave me the go ahead to replace both of mine.
She is the boss of course.
My son just got back from a business trip we will TRY to call Colt tomorrow and see what they suggest. [Wouldn't bet on them being much help]

It's such a shame they didn't get the sight quite right, and that darn QR code in plain sight is so......Well, it's the only "blemish" on the gun, as Hikok45 said in his video I watched about 3 minutes before clicking the "Buy Now" button for my Anaconda.

I found the rear sights on my new 6” Python and 6” Anaconda to be loose. Separate from the set screw in the rear blade, which is an issue in and of itself, the whole assembly was wobbly in the topstrap. I chose to upgrade to the Wilson sights and have been very happy. Now, please know that the original sights were NOT a big problem and I had no issues with a wandering point of impact, I just don’t like wobbly sights. My 4.25” Python did not suffer this malady and I left the rear sight as-is. My personal recommendation would be to get the Wilson sights as the sight picture is much better for distance shooting. My 6” Python and Anaconda are typically employed at 50 yards where the improved sight picture is welcome. I usually shoot plates with my 4.25” and rarely go past 25 yards. I don’t mean that disparagingly about the Colt sights; the picture is the equal of any factory sight out there, it just depends on what you want to do with it.

Yes they do I have at least 700 rds through my 4.25 and 6 inch Pythons and they are flawless. The Wilson's don't have that chincy set screw for the windage blade either. Nice normal click adjustment...
Do the Wilson's hold up to recoil? Do they stay on target after you adjust them?

I've got close to 500 thru the KCT, ain't moved since I set it.
I didn't have a problem with the sight coming loose on my revolver, I personally didn't care for the sight that came on it. The Wilson notch is a touch bigger, I get a much better picture for these less than stellar eyes. Definitely a worthwhile improvement for me.

$109 at Midway.......I may just pick another up, cause I've got a feeling ill probably be needing one at some point this yr(especially if a certain model came out in .45 Colt🙂)

Another option I read about is removing the rear sight and gradually "pinching" the ears on it bit by bit with a good pair of vise grips. Pinch a little, test for a snug fit, if it's not snug then tighten the vice grips a touch, punch a little more, rinse and repeat until you get the desired result. They said it should be a little difficult to put it back on when it is correct to eliminate the sight assemblies motion. Disclaimer; I haven't tried this myself, just read about it. They also give a warning about a ridiculously small spring and detent ball that is very easy to lose. I'll have to try it on one of mine. I haven't been keen on buying Wilson sights for all of mine, since I have a total of 8 new Pythons and Anacondas. I'm still looking (not hard) for a King Cobra Target that doesn't have the barrel frame gap which I find repulsive. Every one I have picked up had it, and for that reason I won't order one that I can't examine first. When I do, I'll buy it if it's in close to minty condition.

there's a video on cutting out a shim from a soda can and putting it between the frame and the sight. the pin punches through the shim both sides of the frame. that supposedly eliminates movement of the sight side to side but wouldn't do anything about the wiggle in the sight blade itself.

I've seen that one also. I haven't determined which I think is better. That is very true, the sight blade is a wobbly piece of junk too.

Ihave a set of Wilson front and rear sights that I plan to try on one of Anaconda's. If I like them, I'll swap out the sights on my Python. They have had good reviews to date.

success! i bought a wilson combat sight for my 6 inch and was able to replace the sight today without any issues/scratches using a benchblock. every video i saw used a vise. i did remove the cylinder first so the revolver can lay more flat on the benchblock. i kept the original front sight on for now.

Let me know how they hold and don't move.

I have the Wilson sights on a 2020 python and a new model anaconda. They are great. Honestly though, the original sights are not that bad. I still have one python with original sights. The slight amount of play will have no affect on accuracy from the bench. It is just not enough to make any practical difference.

Kensights has announced they're now making a Colt Elliason Target rear sight for the new Colt revolvers.
Reviews are great.........

I put Kensights on a 69 Python.
Full face rear sight, mucho bettero than the blade in a saddle original

We have several of the new model Pythons and my son was shooting one of his when the rear sight almost fell off his 4-inch model.
He put it back but noticed it has a lot of slack left and right.
To be honest, I haven't got around to shooting any of mine, not like they will be as collectable as the originals are but I simply haven't gotten around to
it, may need to get new sights for all of them.

I would reach out to Colt. By now they should have a new rear sight available at no charge. Please keep us informed.

Like so many others, I’ve put the Wilson sights on my Python. I prefer the U shape and have been switching all of my guns to this rear sight configuration. I also switched the front to their gold bead which I now have on most of my handguns. I like to be consistent with my guns, it helps as my eyes age, the familiarity of the sights makes trips to the range with different guns an easy adjustment.
