Some people are modifying a Glock bridge mount to work on the XD's for red dot mounting like this person did over on the XD board http://www.xdtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18676&highlight=steel+glock+mount. You'll have to trim some material out of the inside of the mount to make it fit properly, but it takes all of 5 minutes to do so.
You could also put a JPoint on it using a sig rear mount if you wanted to loose the rear sight.
I think ATN makes mounts that replace the rear sight, direct to the dovetail. I remember seeing something about adapter mounts somewhere, but I can't find the link.
The ATN Digital Compact is a nice, small unit --- but I wouldn't dream of putting it on a carry piece.
Far as I know, it's the smallest Red Dot out there --- but it would still obstruct your sight picture if the battery went dead.
Don't follow? Does the mount for the sig fit in the XD rear dovetail? Which model sig?
I have a Jpoint on a Kimber and it does fine. I like to shoot at 100 yds with my 1911's as well as up close and I cannot do that these days without a red dot (49 yr old eyes). I do OK up close but at a distance its hopeless.:banghead:
Cool. My wife does biz on Ebay (it's not for me) so I might get her to bid on it.
I bought my J-Point from EAuthor Brown Co. I see the sig mount there. Real Cool.
I would like to try one on my XD .45. I could just buy the mount and try my J-Point on it to see before I bought another sight. Thanks !!!!
I remember seeing the mounts in one of those newsprint catalog/fliers --- may not help, it's one of those that have tons of used guns. Can't remember which one ... I remember that they do have a mount for Sigs, so maybe the same will fit ...
