I ask this because I just picked up one of the Aussie Lee-Enfield, No. I Mk. III* rifles that the J. Jovino Co. built up out of a supply of unused parts. It has no real collector value, but makes the perfect shooter, as it's just like a brand new, unissued SMLE. I paid what it was worth, and am happy with my purchase, except for one thing. J.J. Co. put the short buttstock on it, and that makes the length of pull too short for me.
Ideally, the replacement buttstock to get would be an Australian coachwood standard length, preferably new and unissued to match the appearance of the rest of the wood on this rifle. After looking around online, I seem to have found one source for such: Springfield Sporters. Trouble is, there's no way to contact them. I've e-mailed -- no answer. I've been calling for days -- dozens of calls now -- and the phone is always busy. This company simply can't be that swamped with business. There's something wrong here. And I hardly want to just write them a check and wait for order, since right now I feel like I'd be sending the letter into a void. Does anyone know what's going on with this company?
