Anybody like .32acp just for fun?

I have a number of them. A Beretta 1935, Sauer & Sohn (forget the model #), Walther PP, Beretta 82, and a Mauser HSc. I acquired them as I had some of these pistols in 380 and did not enjoy shooting them so much. Plus, the Beretta 82 is perfect for my wife and daughter. My Sig P230 is in 380, and part of me wishes it was in .32, but my purpose in owning it is more for self-defense. That said, if I only had a .32 to depend upon for self defense I think that I could make it work.

i love my cz 70, great trigger with a little bit of work, shoots like a dream and 32acp is not bad if you buy it in bulk

Somehow 32 ACP and "just for fun" don't quite fit in the same sentence. To me, a 32 ACP is just a tool for SD. It doesn't have enough "omph" for fun like a S&W 500 or even a lowly 9mm would. Ammo is expensive. Guns made for the cartridge aren't target pistols. Dunno, if I wanted to shoot just for fun, I'd stick with a 22LR or 9mm for regular plinking.

I personally relegate the .25 ACP, 32 whatevers (incld 327), .38 Spl, & 40 S&W to be defensive calibers (yes, even the 25 & 32).

357 mag, 44 mag, 45 ACP, S&W 500 for when I am bored.

What is not to like about the .32 ACP???

One of my all time favorite calibers. :)

I enjoy just shooting it and I also carry it as my EDC.

71 years old this month.

I'd love to get a 1903 & a Skorpion to go with it as range toys.

That's my caliber too. Three 1903 Colts, two Walther PPs, FN 1910, CZ-70. Love it.

My father had a CZ 27 that he brought back from ETO in WWII. It was OK to shoot because of its weight.

However there was a stigma at the time about carrying/owning a .32. Something about old racial steriotypes.

Me, me!

  • Kel-Tec P32
  • Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless
  • Bersa Thunder 32
  • CZ-83
A SIG 230 and Walther PP would round it out for me, but I've already bought too many guns this year.

I do!

The ammo is so cheap when you've always got your eyes open for it. My favorite finds are asking about corrupted boxes at gun shops and around 10% of estate sales seem to have at least a partial box laying about.

As for the blasters, for me I enjoy my CZ 27, Walther PP and Colt 1903.

I do! I have a Kel-Tec P32 that I bought for a range toy. I have no intention of CCing it. I just wanted a mouse gun to enjoy. I also find the unique engineering and background of Kel-Tec to be interesting. So far I haven't been disappointed.

I enjoy .32 quite a bit. I don't mind paying a bit extra for a box of ammo to run through it. I find it entirely pleasant through the P32. I am actually quite accurate with it.

A guy I worked with last year hooked me up with two .32's. His sister-in-law had them, they were her grandpa's. She had "issues" and had threatened suicide with one of them, so they had to get them away from her. So, for $400 I became the owner of a 1914 Mauser and a French MAB Model D type II.

The Mauser had an issue with the striker not releasing properly, but I "think" I've got that solved. Gotta test fire it.

The MAB seems to have an issue with the mag follower tilting, haven't messed with it yet. But I did get new Wolff spring kits for both. And I just bought three boxes of ammo from a local forum member.

But I don't figure I got hurt for $400 for both of 'em.

with the prices of .22lr being as much as centerfire if you can find it, why not get the readily available .32acp and be better off if needed for defense?

The price for this ammo is too much for me to able to shoot it for fun. I would rather shoot a gun I would use for defense if I am paying so much for ammo.

I think I'm on the lookout for one for fun shooting. I've had a Seecamp LWS32 for over 20 years, but it likes a type of ammo I have in limited supply, so I don't shoot it much.

I had a Beretta M70 in 22 LR for years, and that or a PPK/S would be ideal for fun, I think. Just think - I could buy cartridges just for plinking and not have to worry about the latest gelatin penetration tests...

The Beretta 70 came in .32acp as well as .22 so it qualifies for this thread. What a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. Mine is .22lr too, but I'd love to find a nice .32.
