Just wondering if there's anyone that likes to shoot groups in the northern virginia area (fredericksburg, spotsylvania)? Particularly .22lr bench rest. Getting kind of bored sitting out there by myself and the wife isn't patient enough to be decent competition; so if anyone wants to give it a go one day when it isn't so cold, let me know. I shoot in my backyard with one of those bullet trap deals at 25 yards, no big challenge, just passing time.

Anyway, if anyone's interested, send me an email.

I like to shoot groups with a 22LR. I find it quite challenging at 50 yds or further and I usually shoot alone. Hope you find a few folks to plink those holes in your targets with.

Added: Shooting by yourself is one of the reasons I go to a range to shoot if I'm not plinking. I get to watch other people shoot and exchange views and ideas. I never would have got to shoot a 500 S&W if didn't go to the range to shoot.

There normally is a monthly rimfire challenge in the rifle section. You should check it out.

Actually, I try to get along with everyone. I consider myself a very tolerant person towards either groups or individuals.

I try to be tollerant of any groups. Unless they are a clear threat to my/my families safety and I can't get away I can't see shooting them.

Even then I would suspect its only a few instigators that would be threat so you STILL would want to shoot at individual threats. (otherwise it sounds like a war) :neener:

Being from Alexandria myself, I'm still reeling from the news that Fredricksburg and Spotsylvania are now considered part of NORTHERN Virgina :)

Ahhh, progress!

I'd love to shoot in the rimfire match but it says that scoped rifles are to be shot from 50 yards, I only have 25 yards to work with. Maybe someone has some input on how I could fairly compete in the 50 yard match? I would just size the target down by half, but I'm not that computer savvy. Would that even be a viable option? I printed the targets anyway, looked like a fun game, except I'm going for 3 shots in each black dot; kinda compete against myself.

If anyone could help me out, I'd love to join in and give you guys a real run for the money, so to speak! If not, there must be some other poor soul out there with shooting at 25 yards; send me a message and we'll set up a 25 yard match!

halfded--if you can find some way to half size the target, i would think we could allow you to shoot the match, but post it in the thread and lets see what the others think.
:)

If it is half size, yeah, fine by me. (can't really tell in the pic) just put a ruler or something next to it to show that it is half size. But ask the others first if you would....

If group shooting is anything like flock shooting, it sounds like a sure way to miss. :what:

Oh, wait! You said "shoot groups" not "group shoot"! :D :D :D

I really enjoy shooting 100 yard groups with my 22 magnum, I can do 1" at 100 yards pretty consistently. The rifle is a Marlin 925-M 22 mag, I really like it, its a shooter.
