Was at the local Cabela's yesterday getting reloading stuff and saw that they had an FN .45 in the case. I handled it and liked it a bunch. Excellent fit and finish, excellent checkering on the grips, excellent three dot fixed sights, and comes with two 14 round magazines and one 15 round magazine. The one they had in stock was the USG model that can shoot DA/SA and be carried cocked and locked. Felt much better than my M&P .45 or my Glock 21SF. Not trying to sound like a commercial, but it fit like it was molded to my hand.

Any High Roaders have one of these? Can you tell me the good/bad/ugly about it or provide a range report on its accuracy? I did a search, got a lot of folks saying it was a good gun or a bad gun, but nobody would explain why it was good or bad :).

Thanks in advance,
LeonCarr

It's a large gun, but it fits my hand well and I have a rather small hand (I wear a size M glove). It's quite accurate and very durable. The only significant flaws are that it sometimes has a problem digesting +P ammo and it's sensitive to ammo that doesn't conform to the SAAMI standards for overall length. WWB is a common offender in this category. Some of them don't have any issues with +P or WWB, others won't eat one or the other.

I love the gun, personally, but it's too large for me to carry comfortably. I've put well over 1500 rounds through one, though. It's comfortable and has very light recoil for a .45.

Thanks for the great comments and please keep them coming.

I have read alot about them and that was the first one I have acutally been able to handle. Very nice.

Have not been able to find one for rental, but will keep looking.

Thanks again,
LeonCarr
