Just totally disassembled mine cleaned it thoroughly and reassembled. I never looked at the alignment of the slots on the piston rings. I assume that they should be offset? Please advise.

A while I bought a smooth bore rifle sight slug barrel for an 1187. If you are interested pm me. Other hand I wouldn't mind picking up an 1187. A while back my beneli me was stolen and some how I feel like a good semi auto is a good HD option. Look at Brownells they have a lot of good field stripping maintenance videos there
 
Thanks KodeFore. I have taken it apart a few times. Not too bad of a job. Gets pretty full of carbon though. I’m not interested in a slug barrel. I pretty much keep this for when my friends come down from Canada to visit. The wife generally used it as it is a bit easier on her shoulder than my O/Us. The old 1187 is a solid shotgun though
