I am considering a LS in .357 because of its 3" barrel. I know one guy who carries a 9mm LS but I seldom hear about other guys who do. I dont think carrying a .357 magnum challenges my manhood, no matter what is written on the side of the gun. Any opinions?

My all the time gun is a Model 60LS. Not a three inch but a .357 Ladysmith snubby.....and I am man enough to admit it. It fits my hands well, has a good trigger, works, looks nice, fits in just about any pocket and is light enough.

I love the little girl.

I was at a range one day when a guy next to me with a KAHR polymer 9mm or .40 was firing one round and saying "Damn". He'd fire another round and say "damn". I asked what the problem was and he said that the recoil from the little gun was just a bit much. I showed him my girlie gun, loaded up 5 rounds of 158 grain .357 fired off all five with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with lighting off 158 grain .357 maggie from a snubby. When the smoke cleared the guy just looked at me and said......"Ok I'll stop being a Pu%@y now." So if anybody questions your choice you just load up some 158 grain .357 maggie and tell them to have a go. :scrutiny: If they still talk stuff then just do what I do......hit em' with your purse. :neener:

I carry a model 60LS too. My is a 38 though. I wanted something small and light to carry on days my back was hurting since it is hard for my to carry anything else on these days. I got my at a great price so the Lady Smith did not matter much to me it is just as deadly.

I usually carry a 642, but I do have a 65 LS; if anybody asks, I just tell them the truth - it's my wife's gun. With a little Flitz or simichrome and some elbow grease, you can make the laser engraved "LadySmith" go away.

What makes the name unmasculine? A guy who works wonders with silver is called a "silversmith", a poet is sometimes referred to as a "wordsmith" a man who repairs guns and makes them work is called a "gunsmith" so a guy who can work wonders with the ladies would be called......

I almost bought one, but got the modle 60 since it was $50 cheaper in the same case, but sometimes I kick myself that I didn't get the LS, especially since my wife took the 60 anyway for her bedside security blanket.

I almost bought one at my favorite local gunshop (The Powder Room)...but I couldn't see myself telling people I bought a LadySmith at the Powder Room.
I had to rush home, threw on some cammo, and thumbed through an old copy of Guns and Ammo till I calmed down. :uhoh: :uhoh:

Now that is funny :D

The name doesnt bother me any, I had a 3913 ladysmith I carried a lot in the summer, my daughter moved out on her own and she now has it, so I found another one at the last big gun show in Tulsa. compact, slim and light, they are great carry guns.

Forget the name... it's just the good ol' Model 13 (blued) or Model 65 (stainless) with a 3" barrel. I have one of each, and love them to bits. If I could get another, I would: and if a Ladysmith at an affordable price comes my way, it's not going to get past me! :D

Re:

How would an LS 357 compare to a Ruger SP101?? Same difference?? Just curious.....
Atticus...your comment

Way to funny man.....mack

Also have a Ruger SP0101 the SP101 is too big and heavy for easy pocket carry. The dimesions and weights are not drastically different on paper but they sure do feel like it in actual use.

The Ruger however feels much more robust and I would not feel bad dumping round after round of .357 magnum through it. The M60LS just feels more delicate and I would not be comfortable feeding it a steady diet of .357 maggie.

My wife carries a model 60LS. My snubbie is a 442, mostly because I wanted a lighter-weight wheelie. I wouldn't have a problem carrying the 60LS if necessary. It's a very nice piece.

I couldn't find one locally, so I got a 642 instead... but if I do manage to find one at a good price, I think I'll snag it up. :)

I just bought a M60 LS for my parents for Chirstmas. If my Mom doesn't like it my Dad has a definate interest and if he doesn't like it, I would definately be happy carrying it. :)

I own a few S&W's, and the 65 LS I own came with a better factory action than anything put out in the last 25 years; I understand they made it with a lighter trigger pull for ladies.

If you carry a ladysmith than you are in fact a lady. oh bull, again what is lady like about a .357 magnum revolver.its one mean ass lady.

I bought a 317 LS because it had a full hammer spur.

Folks like the 3913 LS so much that they made them with the LS engraving.
And guess what, last night I had quiche for dinner!!

It's a non-issue except for the ignoramuses. If the gun works, it's a gun.

Since it has always been a male characteristic to refer to guns and cars as "ladies", then why would it be considered an insult to a mans masculinity if he should choose to carry a ladysmith?

What would be really cool is to buy a Ladysmith at the Powder Room, then send it out for a hot pink durakote. Could you imagine the BG's surprise when you whip out your CCW and tell him to hold it right there?

Then you could get the Barbie Pink furniture for your AR, like "Penelope" here

Of course at that point you would need a membership in Pink Pistols, which in CA is probably mandatory anyway.....

I worry about you Riley...

Actually, a certain shade of pink has been demonstrated to pacify; I think it's used in some prison cells and jails and psychiatric facilities. You could always make the claim that you tried everything to stop the attack before you put 3 rounds COM into the BG.

So, you see, pink is "tactical" :neener:
