Went to the range with my S&W 586 today. A thought popped in my head. I love the look of a blued revolver and cocobolo smooth grips. But I don't really enjoy shooting it that much. I mean it's fun and all, definitely beats a poke in the eye ;) . Just doesn't feel as good as a 1911. But it's so pretty  .

After coming home I had an urge to sell my revolvers and buy one really nice 1911.

I have a S&W 10-5 that I rarely fire. It's not that I don't like firing it, I just found it in near mint condition, and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

i like how my 228 looks but dont like shooting it , i like my 226 better and love to shoot it.

Cruise thru the used gun rack at the local gun store and you'll find a significant number of unfired but previously owned examples

Typically, but not limited to, the "big bangers". Ruger #1 in .458, .454 Casull, etc. Guns that are painful for the average person to shoot.

I really like the looks of the Browning Hi Power and have owned one, but I couldn't shoot it because of slide and hammer bite. Bummers because it was a wonderful pistol. :(

Several
- my Claridge Hi-Tec (bought for the collection of evil 'assault pistols') - dollar for dollar, the worst trigger pull I've ever taken home. I shot a mag and put it away.
-The Walther P1/38 - does nothing for me shooting but it's a joy to play with.
- Nagant revolver - ditto, I'm amazed at the general workmanship and lockwork and whatnot, but it's a safe and oogle queen, not a shooter.
-semi-auto Mac 10 clone. It's 7 freakin' pounds unloaded but again, I wanted it for the collection.

That's it that I can think of.

Colt Anaconda .44 magnum. Brightly polished stainless steel and a joy to look at, but heavier and less comfortable than the S&W Mod. 29 that I prefer.

What a relief, I thought I was the only one.

I am a Ruger guy so I have both a SP101 and a GP100 in 357mag., but I don't shoot the SP, at least not very much, because it is a handfull. I really like the looks though, so it's a keeper.

I too have a Russian Nagant revolver, that I have never shot. I only bought it because it is an interesting piece of history. I have several more that fit into that catajory, mostly autoloaders.

My little J.C. Higgins High Standard is a cute little plinker; unfortunately, I've never been able to hang onto the one-piece plastic grip, so my shots end up all over the target.

A Walther PPK is like a beautiful woman with VD: great to look at but you're going to be sorry if you get involved. :uhoh: :neener:

American Arms AP-9. Can't say that I love the looks of it, but shooting it is just aweful.

I traded it for a Glock

Beretta 92 FS Inox.
Sexy sexy sexy,
Magazine's kept dropping out even after 2 trips back to Beretta.
Heavy.
Consistently inaccurate.
jammed a lot with Hollow points.

I love my Mauser HSc. It's a very pretty, elegant looking gun, but the trigger slap is terrible! I can only handle shooting one or two magazines at a time. Plus, it's a jam-o-matic. But it sure is pretty to look at. I haven't shot it in almost 2 years.

I owned the Smith and Wesson 627PC shown below for a bit. Loved the trigger, loved the features, LOVED the look. But damn if those N frame guns are just too big for my little girly hands. I just never could get used to shooting it. It just always felt so honking big. Nothing wrong with the gun just didn't fit me and therefore wasn't as fun to shoot as it was to look at. I sold it and ended up with a shotgun and a Ruger 3inch GP100 that fits me perfectly. Not as much "pride of ownership" with that Ruger but it fits me perfectly and I shoot it like a laser beam. I love that GP100 and only miss the 627 for it's cool factor.

She was a beauty though.

My FN Hi-Power.

I love everything about it, but it hates me back. Its not even the occaisional bite from the spur, but the utter mauling I receive from the hammer's arm and the top of the tang.

A mere 150rds, and I have an actual scar from it.

Hopefully, when I replace it with a C&S no bite hammer that the spirits of JMB and Sailve will smile upon me.
:D

Glock 26. I like the way it looks. All business like. The trigger bites my trigger finger whenever I shoot it.I end up with a blister type injury.

I won't own a gun that I don't like to shoot.

I shoot them all, from my .50 Queen Anne flintlock replica to my CZ-52 to my M1A and my repro of an 1853 Enfield rifled musket.

If I don't like shooting it, I don't own it.

The only gun that I owned for a while that I did not like to shoot was a 2A Enfield in .308 that had been chopped down into a faux-carbine.

It hurt to shoot, until I finished my homemade scout rifle project and put a sythetic stock with rubber buttpad on it.

Now, I like to shoot it, too.

If any of you have guns that you don't like to shoot, and want to sell cheap, give me an email.

I've been looking at some 1895 Nagants, for example.

I have come across very few guns that I just don't like to shoot.

I like the Beretta Tomcat...but the triggers those things come w/ just plain BLOW! ...then there's the scandium guns from (I callem flinch makers) from S&W, esp. the 357 snubbies :what:  Pretty guns, great for carry, just not much fun to shoot

The only gun I don't shoot as much as possible is the Anshuts free-pistol my grandfather left behind. It's fun to shoot and it shoots real good, but it just gives me a bad feeling to use it. As it feels wated to use a so nice gun with my limited shooting skills. And the 30 gram trigger pull is kind of difficoult to use. So it only gets one or two trips to the range a year.
