I bought a set of VZ ETC grips for my Ed Brown Special Forces Carry a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier with them. The texture really provides a good grip which helps control recoil and they look great too. I'm not a fan of wood grips or slim grips so ended up replacing the grips on all of my 1911s with standard thickness VZ ETC and Double Diamond grips. My only complaint about VZ is the lack of color choices. I really like the "dirty olive" and can tolerate the "black desert sand" but no other color appeals to me. The grips shown on the Dan Wessons are similar in color to the VZ Slim Line grips that come from the factory. The VZ grips look good on my Kimber too and provide more control compared to the Cylinder & Slide 320 grips I was using.

When ordering grips, it's not always easy to determine how they'll look on your 1911 due to the lack of photos available. Maybe these photos will help someone who's wondering if VZ grips are for them ... in these colors of course.

SWEET! Great pics too, nice job. I've been looking for some new grips for my Kimber Ultra CDPII, I'll have to check them out. I'd be interested to see anyone who has put some on one.

Thanks!! These are all the G10 type just in case anyone's wondering. I couldn't get a good photo of the Raptor either on its own or with the TEII but this is the best I could do. I plan on painting the Raptor with Cerakote (something dark most likely) so that's why I chose the dirty olive grips. They don't really match the stainless finish but will do for now.

Great photos; they really show the colors very well. I think I like the Double Diamond grips the best; that style has always been my favorite in walnut on my M1911's.

Those guns look so nice that I would be afraid to wear them out to the range and never on the town...daddy's diamonds gotta stay pristine.

Yes, why yes I do :D

I would own more, but I like each 1911 to be a bit different.

VZ grips is located in a small industrial plaza not far from the high school I attended. Walt Disney was on to something; it's a small world after all...

VZ are the best combat grips out there. I prefere the Tactical Diamonds, VZ's gripiest grips. That's really VZ's claim to fame IMO.

For smooth CCW grips I prefer Alumagrips. For long range sessions and show, smooth fullsize Sarges Grips rule, especailly the Aboyna Burls or any burl really.

I bought a DW V-Bob last month and I wasn't sure I would like the grips. A month later, and a couple of thousand rounds downrange...I like them.

Grips on a gun are like a shirt and tie with a good suit. Some things just go together perfectly. VZ is a good choice because they have so much variety in colours and texture. I had those Camos done on special order and shipped to NightHawk when the gun was being built. I really like the groove for the mag control. VZ was also able to burn the NHC logo for me. They are good people to deal with.

I have VZ's on all of my 1911's. Aliens on my Gold Cup, Double Diamonds on my Ed Brown Kobra, and Operators on my daily carry, my Dan Wesson CBOB. I like them all, but my favorite is the Operators.

VZ slim line DD's in black and gray on a Les Baer UTC (no FCS).

Sorry about the camera flash, wouldn't focus without it.
