Anyone else playing with a PAP M77 (.308 AK)?

Just got one in a trade, already pulled off the thumbhole stock and replaced it with a Galil style folder and an Ace folding hinge. Ordered a Tromix weld-on Galil type cocking handle and a Tabuk style flash suppressor. welded muzzle nut came off with 5 minutes of Dremel time. Ordered a half dozen M-14 mags for modification to fit. Seems a pretty solid rifle, typical Yugo feartures, and an adjustable gas block (!).

Seems a value. Anyone else playing with them?

I converted a Saiga .308 years ago when SA surplus ammo was like $220/1200 rounds. Not so much fun now that you're doing pretty good to find .308 for $600/1000 rounds.

Be careful about your 922(r) parts count. Your M14 mags count as 3 US parts (assuming they aren't the Korean ones), if your stock is US made, swap in a US made pistol grip or hand guard and I think you are OK.

I have not tried one yet. I have converted several saigas, a vepr. It would be interesting to know if the m77 has superior features.
