I bought a new rifle just after Christmas and have had it at the range twice now. It's a Ruger M77 MkII chambered in 7mm Rem Mag.

I bought the dies and bullets, but had to fire off some factory loads to get the brass to reload. I thought I would see what it could do, so I bought the following:

(1 Box) Remingtion 150 Gr PSP Core-Lockt
(1 Box) Winchester Premium w/ 150 Gr Nosler Ballistic Silvertips
(2 Boxes) Federal Classic w/ 150 Gr Speer Hot-Cor

and 1 box of this funky looking "Fusion Ammo". Upon closer inspection, the box has a few federal logos real small between the pshycedellic colors and deer antlers. Real wierd box.

Shot 'em all. They all performed well, but the Fusion is outstanding!

After sighting in the scope I started shooting groups onto the color changing targets. When I got to the fusion, I could not believe it. 5 shots of factory ammo from a factory rifle inside a 1.5 inches on the bullseye!

This was from a bench with just basic sandbags under the foreend of the stock. No fancy vise or benchrest devices.

We started taking shots at a few old pumpkins that we put on the 200 yd berm. Only took one shot to hit a softball sized pumpkin. Yeah, there wasn't much left.

I'm impressed.

Actually scoped, variable power.

6-24x50

Been shooting it between 6 and 14ish. Took a few 300 yard shots on 20ish.

Yes, I like my scopes big too.

It's a collaboration between Federal and Speer. They have the same parent company. It's a hunting bullet that uses the same bonding process as the gold dot bullets.

Can someone link me to a site where I can look up some information on the Fusion bullets? I'd like to see what calibers they are availbile in.

I used them in .308WIN over Thanksgiving to harvest a mulie out in MT. While I didn't recover the slug we found only one small fragment when processing one of the front shoulders (I don't remember which). I posted a report here which you can read if you like.

I found them to be as accurate as the Hornady 168gr BTHP match and Black Hills equivalent that has given me the best performance at the range.

Black Hills has always been my favorite brand of ammo. I'd like to see how it measures up to it.

You can find out more info at www.fusionammo.com

They have a chart with all available calibers and weights with the balistic info listed for each cartridge.

I think alot of factory ammo is real decent. I have not shot this fusion ammo, actually I havent shot factory since I started reloading. But if im not mistaken isn;t their bullet design much like Speer's hot-core?

too Good shooting
