Anyone fall "out of love" with 1911's?

I gave 'em up years ago for several reasons. I just don't like 'em.

Found out they were mediochre in performance and there were many other pistols that cost less, and performed better.

I think that sums it up for me. Also, the grips just never felt right, not fat enough and there are no grip panels available that fill the gun out in my hand. I love the Hogue grip on my KP90DC Ruger. Yeah, my hands are kinda big, not real big, though.
