Full name on Budsgunshop is Ruger SSNGSIX 22 91/2 BL AS 10624. No idea what it all means. Anyway, I've been thinking about getting this for a while as I've wanted a reliable 22. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Super Single Six. Interchangeable .22 long rifle and .22 magnum cylinders supplied. 9 & 1/2 inch barrel. AS10264 is probably a product code.

I had a single six convertible, 6.5 inch barrel in stainless steel. I still regret sellign it some 5 years later. Never miss fired, more accurate than my ability to shoot it, light and well balanced with a crisp single action trigger.

I highly recommend the single six, but unless you intend to do a lot of long range shooting the 9.5 inch barrel is too long.

Thanks for the replies. Can't 22 mag cylinders also support 22lr or am I thinking of something else?

No. 22 Magnun cylinders are for 22 Magnum only. Most new model Single Six's come with both a magnun and LR cylinder.

The AS 10624 number might be the Serial Number but I'm not sure.

Single Sixes are great .22's. I have a 7.5" Hunter model and a 5.5" Stainless. I agree with Radagast in that the 9.5" barrel is a bit much. Personally I'd go for the Hunter model instead even for long range shooting, as it easily accepts a scope.

Keeper for sure.

My single six was the first handgun I ever had. I got it when I was twelve so I have had it now for almost thirty years. I have shot thousands and thousands of rounds through it and it is just as good as the day I bought it. Great gun.

My Ruger Single Six was purchased in 1962 and was carried daily for many years. Most of the blue has been sacrificed to holster wear, but it still goes bang every time and shoots better than I can.

A 9.5" single six was the most accurate 22 revolver I ever had. It went to a friend who like to shoot it. The 22 magnum makes more sense to me in the long barrel and shot very good, just not as handy as the shorter barrels. Good luck : Bill
