Hey all, for size reference, can anyone post a picture of a Glock 27/26 next to a Ruger LCP and LC9?

Thanks!

Having owned and shot all three, I found the Rugers both too small. The G26 is worth the effort to carry to me. I shoot the G26 far better than the smaller Rugers, both in speed and accuracy. The Rugers have moved on to other satisfied owners, and my G26 is my usual carry gun.

If you can, rent or borrow all three and try them out. YMMV, but it wasn't even close for me.

1-Lcp=too small and very limited range, but good in a pinch
2-LC9, the worse trigger of any gun I have owned with 1/4 inch of wobble from side to side. Ruger claimed that they made it that way because it would seize up when firing rapid fire for long periods at the range. "I spoke to a tech guy there, "I couldn't stand it"
3- Glock 27 , great gun a bit too snappy for me now at 65, it wasn't 20 yrs ago
4- Glock 26- probably the top 5 or 6 guns made today, reliable, perfect size, and able to carry 10-33 rounds on demand. Low recoil and accurate at great distance. By far the best carry gun of the 4
I predict that no matter what other guns you buy, you will always keep your 26 "if you buy one". Also both glocks go bang every time

Have a 26 and lcp. I have room for both. The lcp is my "better than a sharp stick" gun when I simply can't carry something bigger.
The 26 may be the best carry pistol I have ever owned. Accurate, reliable, and more comfortable to wear around town all day.

Given a choice, I'd pick the glock over the lcp any day. The lc9 was just way too big for what it was. I handled one, and immediately went with the lcp. Later I found myself wanting more firepower, came home with 26 and never looked back.

Get the LC9 if you already have the 27 especially if you IWB.
The trigger ain't that bad for a DAO.
It's a very comfortable carry and with the pinky extension magazine is very controllable.
The LCP is just too dainty for my hands but is honestly the only gun I've ever carried that I had to check my pocket to see if it was still there.

If your considering an LC9, why not also consider a Kahr CM9 or PM9?

The Kahrs have the (IMO) the best trigger of them all.

Because as much as I love the look and feel of the P238/938, I haven't jumped on one. I'd go as far as to say that it's a Firearm that I really covet. However since I'm very off and on about it I just haven't dropped the $550-$700. I'm not very familiar with the 1911 battery of arms, I don't know If I want a carry pistol like that. I feel much more comfortable with a DAO than something "Cocked and Locked" If Sig were to make a very well done P238/.22lr I'd be sold, I'd likely buy the centerfire AND rimfire models.

But, by comparison, something like a Ruger LCP/LC9 or even a lower priced Kahr seem like they get the same thing done for less money. I just don't get the amazing sight picture of the 238/938 series, but I'll take lesser sights so I can have a "safety"/carry method I'm more comfortable with.

Someday I'll have a 238/938, likely when I become more familiar with the 1911 BOA.

I plan on making it my "Gentleman's carry pistol"!

Get a Kahr, the new ones have an external safety as an option, you can get them either way. The Pm 9 can run up to a grand or more loaded with night sights, and the new safety, but can be had for $4-800.00 depending on weather you want the PM, or Cm, or CW, the PM9 is .6 smaller in length and a half inch smaller in grip. It has a 3" barrel vs a 3.6" on the CW. There are several models including all steel versions like the MK. These are accurate guns, not the same as the LC9, or Keltek line, I had the LC9 and the LCP. I would choose the LCP if I had to choose one, the trigger wobble on the LC9 is the worse I have ever seen. I changed it out to a Galloway, it actually feels broken. They "Ruger" intentionally made it loose because they found the gun to be seizing after running it fast and hard. I spoke to a tech there and he immediately had that answer for me. It should have been re engineered. Kahr makes a good gun now, I had a bad one back when they first came out with the P9, I swore off the for 15+ years. But after hearing how improved they were decided on trying them again. I love this little gun now, I ran 5 mags with 7 types of ammo the first time out, and not a single problem, now that is hard to beat, One mag was from my old Kahr and still worked fine.

I have carried all of these, and a P938 and XDS 45. Hands down favorite is the Kahr CM9. The size, weight, sights, trigger pull, comfort and reliability all meet my needs.

Glock really should make a single stack thin 9mm, until then, Kahr CM9 is the ticket, got mine for under $400, out the door.
The Ruger LC9 has been 100% reliable, but as others have mentioned, less than average trigger pull. It is now my "truck gun".

Agreed; if they could slim the G26 down into a single stack and make it as reliable, that would definitely get my interest and probably my money. I had a G26 and an LCP, and I think I even did a photo comparison of the two. I'll see if I can dig it up.

If you're used to the Glock trigger, I'd suggest you look at the Kahr CM9 instead of the LC9. The trigger on the LC9 is completely different (read: awful).
