I have a little project that I need a throat reamer for, if some one has one I can borrow I'll cover shipping both ways and I likely have something that you could take in trade for your troubles.

Wish, I did. I need one too.
Are you also having problem with certain cast boolits being to long to seat just behind the front driving band without the cases being trimmed to recommended minimum (1.580) first? I did.
I also bought an adjustable reamer to open the throats .001 on my blackhawk to allow use of a certain fat boolits. Worked great!
The throater would allow me to not to have to trim so often though.
Don't know how much they cost?
Would we be money ahead to split cost of one?
Anyone else might want to join in?

Actually I have had a section of barrel for a few years and decided to turn it down to fit in one of my Savage 24's and chamber it for 357 mag. It shocked me how well it shot and I would like to cut a leade into the rifling at this point.

No, it's just over 9". Full length might get pretty heavy, in any case that was all that was left over from a different project.

That has to be the best example of a "long sighting radius pistol" I have ever seen!
Keep us informed of the accuracy test!
Great job!

Two years ago I bought a Remington Rolling block #5 at a gunshow.
It is either a 1905 or 1910 type.
Neither the seller nor I knew the cartridge nor caliber.
But we made the deal.
It turns out to be a 38 special with a tight chamber.
I worked up to 357 mag double loads and the primer blew and the gas opened the action part way, and jammed the gun good. But no harm done.
I want to shoot a target with it, before I rebarrel it and shoot a deer with it.

If you blew open a rolling block action part way??

Harm was done.

There is no possible way for one to open partway without something stretching, bending, or breaking.

It turns out there is a way.
I would not have thought so either.
The pressure on the case head did not blow open the action, the gas came back through the firing pin hole and rolled open the block.

Kind of like a gas operated semi auto single shot.

That is not as strange as putting a hot enough load in a handi rifle, the recoil shakes the action open and ejects the case, after the bullet has escaped.
I did not see that one coming either.
