Pilot, the 75B 9mm runs a 14# spring "stock" nib.
I only shoot a light IPSC comp load, so mine runs well with an 11# CZ recoil spring.
gunsprings.com offers several "optional" spring weights for both pistols. The only "light weight" for the BHP is the variable 11#.
P.S. I bought a replacement 11# spring from the CZ custom shop. (they use Wolf springs) The spring was so long you couldn't get the slide to close. I contacted the Custom Shop, and they said: yeah, for the B you have to cut two or three coils off to get it to fit. Wonder what the "weight" is with my 11# spring MINUS two coils?
It does work, but will not lay flat on the guide rod. When NIB the OE 14# was a smaller diameter, snapped onto the guide rod over a bump at the end of the rod, AND layed FLAT! I'm trying to find an 11# that will do the same. Less spring wire is needed for an 11# than for the 14# spring it came with.
That's why I'm looking at the BHP, which does work for many CZ users. I'm hoping the d@#^^ thing will lay flat.
Maybe I'm just anal.
Boris:
"Coil "wire" diameter also helps determine coil weight in pounds not JUST number of coils." - but you already know the weight, right? Number of coils is important for compressed spring length - to not get a spring bind in full recoil cycle.
Boris that is exactly correct. The BHP is an 11# spring. It is a smaller "coil" diameter than the Wolff spring. I'm hoping it's ALSO shorter than the Wolff spring. I already know it will fit. I'm just hoping it will fit "BETTER" than the Wolff spring. The only thing I don't know is the total length of the BHP spring. The too long spring is binding BEFORE it's even in recoil.
