Anyone have any Norinco 223?

Jm, yes believe I do.... will go later today and look-see. i do remember the brass was reloadable... ok stuff...

Yes I have some somewhere. I haven't shot it in a while, but it functioned fine and had a fairly nasty odor.

I bought 2 or 3000 rounds of that back in the 1990’s and (of course) shot every round.

That said, I used the brass to reload some of the most accurate handloads I’ve ver fired out of my Colt HBAR Match Target.

In have never been able to replicate the groups I fired in that rifle with that brass with any other brass cases.

Weird.

I blew off thousands of rounds in the late 80's.

Ammo might be one of the few things this country could use from China.

Landing the ammo on the west coast made for some most excellent prices.
Norinco .223, 105$ landed in the Arctics Kotzebue Alaska....same for Kengs 'Match' copper washed 7.62x39 1440 rounds in 2 tins in a crate, 89$ landed, and tinned milsurp copper washed 7.62x54r on strippers.880 rounds, 80$ landed, and IIRC 9mm Brass washed and cased, 50$ a 1,000 rd case, landed.
I bought 2 Type 56 underfolders in 7.62x39 and one Type 84s in 5.56. Less than 300$ each, and I still have the 5.56 somewhere.

When Bush banned Chinese imports, the milsurp from Europe was twice the price, simply due to shipping across the continent.

IIRC they were on the hot side and quite accurate for FMJ as well as not good for use on steel inside 200 yards.

I am interested in acquiring a box if someone would part with 20 rounds. I am interested in the effects of a little over 25 years worth of “post load” tumbling.

I bought a case of it in the '90's for just that reason... Colt H-Bar and all...! What I found was about 1 in 6 or 7 cases neck split on the first firing, I wound up having to junk the entire lot of brass.

I am interested in the effects of a little over 25 years worth of “post load” tumbling.

I have to agree... I'm curious, too!

My experience is that they were not on the hot side, similar to standard 223 as marked.

I had a DPMS that was overgassed and ran great on Norinco 223 but would rip the rims off 5.56 loads.

Used up a bunch in an ar and resized the brass for a 6x45 xp100. Not having to decrimp primer pockets was nice and got about 8-10 loadings out of the brass, primer pockets got loose, never a split neck.

It did seem hot, but was very accurate for blammo.
