Black Friday got me, and I purchased a Geisselle Super Duty 16" for cheaper than I can build one for. Now it's time for dressing it up.

I was all set to put a Primary Arms LPVO with ACSS. But I already have an 18" 5.56 with one, and Sig 308 with Razor HG 1X6.

In the spirit of just wanting something different, I was looking at the Elcans. Thinking about how I use LPVOs, it's either on 1 power, or cranked all the way up. I can't think of a single instance where I've used it anywhere in between.

Anyone use one? Worth the money? The only cons I am really noticing is oddball battery and older tech doesn't have the super duper battery life.

If it doesn't pan out, I may just go with the PA ACSS unless someone points out something that catches my eye.

I liked the elcan, but for me, the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Great glass, bright dot, didn't like the reticle. I had trouble picking it up without illumination. AND... ITS A PIG. For what it is, it's heavy. Very heavy and big. In my head, I kept comparing it to an ACOG. In terms of eye relief and head position, it was kind of like shooting a TA11. I opted to stick with trijicon. The piggy back red dot set up works well for me.

There's a YouTube video by a guy called Brass Facts. He goes over the Elcan pretty well.

If you like the ACSS reticle, there's always the prism sights.
