Clean up the trigger on a Hi-Point Carbine? These are fun little guns but the 4595 that I just got has the worst trigger ever. The others that I have are mushy, but fine for this type of gun.

Unfortunately, a mushy trigger pull is the nature of the beast. As far as the pull getting worse, the sear is fairly soft on the pistols I have worked on. Yours might have a burr on the sear face that is giving you grief. If a good cleaning and lube does not help, see if they will sell you a replacement sear. Not hard to replace.

Clean, then Lube it with Outers GunSlick graphite grease.

Then Choot'm.

The more you Choot'm the better it will get as the parts burnish in.
