Anyone know this gun??

Hi all,
I came across a pistol from someone who really knows nothing about it. It really doesn't have any markings except the one's that are visible in the pictures following. It has a four digit serial number stamped under the left side grip but no other marks.
Anyone know anything about this such as maker etc? It's chambered for the .32 round. Not looking for a value on this just any info anyone might know having seen one before. The person that owns it received it in the 40's.

Harrington & Richardson? I almost thought it was an Iver Johnson..... but yeah, the lines are right for an H&R revolver of the period.
