Here I sit at my reloading bench fitting a swept grip saftey and checkering & undercutting my front strap ( first time trying to checker ) on my .38 super. Next to me is my compact model 1911 .45 this gun is with me all day. Gets me to thinking, anyone make a compact in .38 super? I like the .45 but that same gun with a little less recoil and another round or two in the mag would really make me happy.
I know some Compact 1911's are built for the 9mm, so maybe I would have to purchase a 9mm and have the chamber reamed to the correct depth for the super. Then possibly modify the 9 mm mags to allow the longer .38 to fit.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
