I ordered an upper and some mags, dies, some brass and some projos. I need to order a case or two of factory ammo as well, but I would like to be set up to reload (maybe even with cast if that is doable). Anyone loading for this cartridge? Looks like the only powder I have on hand that Hodgdon shows load data for is Lil Gun. Given the ability to maybe use pistol bullets (jacketed or cast) for this cartridge and the high pressure rating I wonder if something like 4198 or 800X would work.

I used H110 with great results. I loaded Hornady 170gr bullets. I did experiment with subsonic 180 XTP bullets with Trailboss. Okay accuracy but very quiet.

Fun cartridge to reload for so far. I wish there was more data.

I am currently experimenting with this round. I am using LilGun with success. I did a run of 100gr .355HP's that I got 2650fps out of and grouped 2" at 100yds. Also a load of 147gr XTP that shoots nearly MOA so far. Now looking at velocity and deer hunting with them.

There aren't a lot of available bullets for the round right now.

I am using a BCA 10.5" build.

I gather you are using 9mm bullets?

Mehavey, can you recommend a mold for 350 legend? I have the usual 358 molds plus the rcbs 35 rem mold, plus I powder coat.

I have played with the idea, but would a .357 bullet be a real gain over the 147gr HPBT design of the XTP? Of course, the .358 offerings look promising as they offer a better BC. However, those I would have to size those down for sure. I wonder if a Polymer tipped BT will come out commonly available for it soon... Something in the 150gr range, with expansion velocities in the 800-1500fps range. That might get you to 250yds with the gun... Maybe.

I went w/ Speer's 180FP HotCor (Lee sized 357) as my GoTo/BestBalance for jacketed.
Anything else that works re flight & terminal ballistics for (your) needs also works.
Just know that ".355" is not a limitation. Get a Lee 357 push through sizer and the world opens up.

I recommend WINCHESTER brass as having the most comfortable margin in case web/floor thickness

Molds that work/feed well/correct length/using (air-cooled Lyman#2 @ effectively FULL POWER/40ksi.
- ACCURATE 36-180_LG
- LEE 358-200RF
- SAECO #352-245gr
- ACCURATE 36-270_CG
(as all that's needed is (very) thin ALOX or PC)

DO NOT USE THIS LOAD

It is but an example of what Moderate hardness, Properly-sized (.357), Coated-Cast projectiles can handle.

I just built a pistol with the same barrel. What load are you using for the 147gr XTP? Have those bullets and just need powder and load data.
