I just procured some Smith & Wesson Dry Lube and shot a little in a couple CZ-82 mags. I then cycled 50 rounds of S&B ammo through them and had no failures. I had previously fired 100 rounds of Wolf ammo and had a few FTF issues. I'm 99.9% sure it's the ammo and not the lube but wondered if anyone else has used dry-lube in any type of mag for their weapon and think it has done a good job.

I clean and lube my magazines with Hornady "One-Shot" Graphite. It blasts away gunk and leaves a thin film of slippery dry-lube.

Good stuff.

Well, I think I'm of the mind that it can't hurt and can only help. I'm going to give all my mags a shot of this stuff.

Protect from corrosion yes. Lube no.

I don't want anything that might react to the ammo, or build up, and cause problems. I keep the insides of all my mags as clean as possible. Any oils or lubes get wiped. On steel mags I'll oil them and wipe them down just to keep them from rusting, but not enough that might stick to a round. I don't want anything foreign in my chamber.

Never know what might happen with the heat and pressure and I've seen chambers with lube in them attract residue and create feeding and extraction problems. I've never found a need to lubricate something as loose as a magazine and never heard of a professional recommending it. I'm sure some "expert" has said it's a good idea, but the overwhelming thing I hear is to not lube your mags.

I've heard the same wisdom and don't know if it applies to the dry-lube type. This stuff dries to a hard film and advertises it will not attract dust or flake off. That's why I asked if anyone has had any experience with it.

Dupont Teflon Dry Lube works for me. I've been using it in my mags for several years. It can be purchased in an auto parts store for half of what the dry lube sprays from the gun or sporting goods stores cost.

You Kel-Tec shooters might try this stuff in your mags if you are having problems getting the slide to go into battery on the first round out of the mag.
