They both seem to beat buds by about $40-50 but I'm a little suspect of using them. I read a lot of reviews online about them and about 30% were bad with long shipping, firearms that looked used or abused and they wouldn't return them and what kind of put me off was the comments the owner was replying to the bad reviews.

anyone use these two sites for online purchases? Im interested in a marlin 1895 and they seem to have the lowest prices but i don't want to get taken either if say somethings wrong with it when i examine it at the ffl.

used grabagun many times.... only thing I don't like is I am on the hook for sales taxes, so that can push the price further than others. always got what I ordered quickly in new in box condition.

never heard of Kyles.

do they charge you sales tax cause your in the same state as them? I found what i want for $500-100rebate=$400 at a local shop but id be at $43 in tax. grab a gun has it $464-100rebate=$364. I don't think they can charge me tax being in a different state?

any of you guys ever have to deny one? how much hassle was it?

Im freaking myself out with these marlins because they used to put out junk but im hearing they are better now and i shouldn't have any worries but ya never know.

Pay the extra to buy in a local shop so you can inspect to your hearts content. If I was that worried about a product I wouldn't buy it sight unseen.

Re: Kyle's Gunshop, if it's the one in the Cincinnati area, I've been in it a few times and thought the atmosphere was a little less than friendly. Not hostile, but not friendly. Maybe it's a tactical thing and I wouldn't understand. I also saw them at a local gun show a few months ago, and thought the same, not the friendliest group of people.

Saw this online: https://kyles-gunshop.pissedconsumer.com/

AIM Surplus is not far away and I try and do my purchasing there. Nice helpful guys at the counter and they offer good value. They've done well by me on parts and ammo, have good prices on police turn-ins and military surplus arms, and great sales. Pays to be on their e-mail list for amazing ammo deals.

I read that also just a little bit ago. same thing for grab a gun but you never know if its true or not. I think I'm just going to eat the $40-50 and get one local just to avoid online headaches. I figured i could use the extra cash saved online for a scope and such but its not worth the headache if theres a lot of b.s.

If you factor in no tax and free shipping, Bud's may not be that much more. You can also examine it at your local store before you accept it.

I'm very much for the idea of supporting your LGS. Or any other type of product. Not just weapons, but tools, toasters, hardware, anything.

It's worth the $40-50 bucks on a $400-$800+ item to establish a relationship with a local guy trying to make a living. Provided the LGS is not populated with #ssh#les.

(Mods- if that ending to my post is dis-allowed, please says so and I will edit according to your wishes. I serve at your pleasure.)

Grabagun is my LGS. Their retail location is 20 mins from my office. I save the shipping and FFL transfer fee by picking up my order there. They are a little slow getting it there but I'm not in a great hurry. Ammo ships at a flat rate if I want it shipped to my house. They are pretty fast with that.

They are pretty friendly but sometimes slow to answer the phone.

My local gun shop gets 30 dollars for ten minutes of paperwork, that's good enough for me.

Huh. I've lived here 44 years and never heard of Kyles before and based off of what I read this morning, there is no need for me to ever visit. I guess we just have too many good gun shops around here so no need to branch out to questionable ones.

I agree on Aim Surplus. Definitely worth the little trip north if buying a firearm but I'll just have them ship the ammo.

I WISH I had a LGS that was $40 higher than Bud's. Maybe it's the mostly yuppie area I live in, but at both shops hear me, the prices are at least $50-$100 over FULL retail. A $500 gun at Bud's is $700-$800.

The majority of their clientele seems to be first time gun buyers. I saw sales guy sell a guy a bottom if the line deer rifle...then talk the guy into a $1500 scope. A guy that had never shot before.

They also do "walk in only" deals, i.e., special in-store pricing not available online. I just picked up Aguila .22's for $21.90 a 500 round brick, and Federal Hi-Shock 9mm JHP for $9.95 per box of 50 was available.

Bought a few guns from grabagun, never a problem. If I recall correctly they aren't the fastest to ship a gun, I was more interested in price, not speed.

Grabagun, yes. The only complaint is that they will ship your gun when they get around to it. I have the same complaint with Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore. Good prices, no problems, but they will absolutely drag their feet with shipping.

For a comparable outfit with fast shipping, Bud's Gun Shop is reputable, and will provide explicit details regarding when things will ship. They may price match on some items, just be sure to provide them with an exact price including credit card fees and shipping.

Never heard of Kyle's, until now.

Beware that when buying anything online from the aforementioned as well as similar outfits, once you accept the firearm at your FFL, it's your problem and they won't want to know you. Examine it carefully, because after that your only recourse will be its manufacturer.

I don't know if you want the advice or not, but I like supporting my LGS and always ask them first before buying anything from an online dealer that is going to be shipped to them. I will not consider an online vendor unless my LGS enthusiastically recommends them, and agrees that if I don't like a firearm for whatever reason they will send it back without complaint.

I have a local Rural king and emailed rural king guns and asked about price matching grab a gun and was told they will honor a normal price but not sales sorry for the inconvenience. I don't know if they think grabagun is a sales price because its 250 cheaper or what.

I used "granagun" several times, never had any single problem. Bought guns and lowers.Shipping not free but is fairly priced.

I have bought several firearms from Grabagun. Shipping was fairly quick for mine.

One may always refuse the firearm they send. I have not needed to.

I would love to buy from my local outfitter. Alas, they are never able to get any firearm I am interested in. I know my taste is, unique. However, they were in no way interested in ordering me a simple Savage rim-fire, let alone able to order a stainless Desert Eagle. My son didn't want a camouflaged or alligator coloured Rascal, he wanted a red one. To that they replied, "why does he want a red one?".

If they can't help me, I am unable to help them in return. Though all of my powder is purchased from them, purely because they have it.
