I have lot of WST. Was wondering if anyone uses it to load 357 mag. I can't find any info that says yes but ya never know.

thanks

It is way too fast for anything but very light loads in .357. It works just fine for that though.

I was afraid that was going to be the answer. Too bad as I have 8 lbs of it. Works great in 45acp was hoping that it would work in moderate 357.
Thanks Walkalong.

Yes it does great in .45ACP loads. Winchester powder data site lists loads for WST for .38sp. I'm not in any way saying you should but if it were me, I'd start there and play around some for moderate loads. OOOPS, almost forgot, I already have.
I'm not saying it will but it just might work in the .44 magnum also for moderate loads.

I have been thinking of trying a new powder that has a med-slow burn rate. I have tried HS-6 and it was ok, so I'm thinking maybe Universal, True Blue or VV-N340.

dave,
If you want good performance from 357mag try 2400 it will down load better than some of the other magnum powders. As for cast bullets above a 1000 FPS I would use those with a BHN of 18

For midrange loads in .357 Unique is hard to beat all around, but AA #5 and N340 work real well too. True Blue is pretty good as well. N340 is a really good powder. Pricey, but very, very, good.
