I'd like to check if a particular load is safe:

9mm
125gr LCN 3.7gr titegroup @ 1.08" with CCI SPP #500

I have a lot of rounds worked up at an OAL of 1.125 and I'm not at the max load, but I'm having a problem with the rounds jamming into the leade and being unable to eject a live round.

Just wanted to know if I was within SAAMI spec 35k PSI, if I shortened the OAL of my current rounds.

My intent is 9mm +P/ NATO spec, in order to simulate my carry ammo.

Thank you

I know I should have worked this up, but I just wanted to make sure this load was safe before going any further.
I would like to avoid taking apart as many pistol rounds as I've made, with how scarce pistol powder is..

You need to state the seating depth of the base of the bullet. Bullet geometries vary quite a bit and COL doesn't help unless you know what the length is between the tip of the bullet to the base. Once that is known, a Quickload calculation can be made. Anyway, if you know your seating depth you can use these numbers.

For instance, if the bullet were 0.600" long:
COL of 1.125" (0.229" SD) gives 30,000 psi
COL of 1.100" (0.254" SD) gives 33,600 psi
COL of 1.092" (0.262" SD) gives 35,000 psi
COL of 1.075" (0.278" SD) gives 38,493 psi

Thank you, I really appreciate your advice and posting the information.

Ok so I measured it out, and using my data compared and extrapolated. Worst case scenario, I'd be sitting right on 35k PSI

I was a little tired at first but I figured it out.
OAL - 9mm case length = exposed bullet

bullet length - exposed bullet = seating depth

which I then used to compare against the data provided

I will probably not be changing the OAL of my previously worked up rounds and I don't suggest anyone do so either. I simply wanted to know if I could do so and still be within safe parameters.
The shape of the bullet I am using forces me to seat deeper than the load book reccomends in order to safely chamber a round. A situation like this SHOULD be carefully worked up and observed with a chrono and full care.

Thanks to rsrocket1 for checking Quickload, and everyone else for having a look.
If anyone has any experience using loads with this OAL/powder/projectile grain combo please chime in.

Have a great week
