both days, at least they did at the one I went to, alas it took me both days to get my qualification, all total I shot about 500 rounds. we had a guy qual almost right off the bat, with a bolt gun no less.
Yea, there are "qualification" targets shot on both days, though more are done on day two, because there is a good bit of instruction given on day one.
