I've done a few pistols with Duracoat but I'm looking for something that applies a little better then the cheap airbrush I bought from Lauer Weaponry. Any advice on decent gravity feed spray guns and what size nozzles I should have?

Let us know if you find something that balances quality with price. For my needs, I really can't justify getting the $300-plus HVLP airbrushes.

I've done about 5 rifles with the cheap airbrush. They've turned out well, but it is still not the best option.

Look for a decent "touch up gun". I like HVLP, but they cost a bit more.

Here is one I use painting bikes: http://www2.northerntool.com/product-1/200307207.htm

On the other end of the spectrum, here is one I use for painting clear exclusively:

Quite a price difference for the same type of gun.

With few exceptions, you get what you pay for with paint guns.

That being said...I've seen some amazingly good paint come out of a Harbor Freight Chinese paint gun.

You're going to want to try to find one that has a couple of different tips, as I don't know which size Duracoat will require.

Fat_46 - Thanks for the info. I did some research on the net and one guy says He uses a cheap Mini Spray Gun off of EBay with a .6mm meter size. I checked on EBay and they have everything from .6mm to 1.5mm, and a large price range.

It looks to me that for "painting" a handgun, one of these mini spray guns would make application a little easier then a $15 airbrush.

I know this is late, but grizzlytools.com is an awesome company with great customer service. On top of all that, they now carry the Duracoat stuff along with some nicer "guns" for it, including a couple HVLP models (http://www.grizzly.com/products/h7670) . Go to their webby and order the free catalog, it's free and WAY worth it. I am in fact fixing to order up some Duracoat products and that gun as well.
