Hey guys,
I'd been wanting to build an AR for my next rifle and had been debating between a 16" dissipator model 1 kit or an 18" cmmg kit. I'm not real loyal to either brand or rifle kit however.

What I'm looking for board member experience with these particular brands. Positive or negative, if you've got an opinion on Model 1 and CMMG please chime in.

CMMG and model 1 are night and day. If you can afford the CMMG then get it and have no second thoughts.

David

my model 1 xm177 build functions flawlessly. steepened feed ramp so hollowpoints would feed as well as FMJs. for $600 total, im pleased as hell.

No first hand experience with either, but my reading tells me...

Model 1 Sales rifles are fine if they work. Yours probably will. If it doesn't run right, have fun.

The CMMG is more likely to run properly, less likely to break, etc etc.

I'd go CMMG.

Mike

The model 1's I've seen/shot/built were garbage to say the least. CMMG is head and shoulders, way above Model 1.

I don't feel like writing 500-2,000 word essay on all the various aspects of why Model 1 Sales should be avoided, and I doubt most people like to spend that much time on a single post, so instead - I'll use Laconic Phrase and say

"Junk"

I do not have any experience with Model 1 Sales.

I do however own a CMMG upper that is very happy on a Bushmaster lower. It runs like a champ. I have not had any issues with it. CMMG also has a very strong reputation for their excellent customer service.

Good luck.

i dont see any kits..just built rifles that are the prices of bushmaster/colts...
