Does it matter? I am working on another AR 15 and I was wondering about the trigger. I am very happy with my standard lower kit and the trigger performance on my 1st AR. I would rather spend the money other places, such as nice glass. What kit do you reccomend? What difference does a drop in trigger make? Thanks.

I can speak for the Rock River 2-stage trigger, that can be had from places like Valhalla Tactical for around 100 bucks; it transforms the AR into a new weapon. There is no going back to the stiff, overtly "lever" feeling stock AR trigger, once you've upgraded to a 3.5lb 2-stage. Again, I can only speak from personal preference, but for a hundred bucks, the trigger will improve your accuracy a helluva lot more than another hundred bucks on the next "level" of optics. I say get a nice 3.5-4.5lb trigger from Valhalla and see the difference. If you don't like it, I'll certainly buy it from you! :)

if you're happy with the basic kit, why change? if you decide you need a better trigger later, it's easy to upgrade. and a basic kit is easy to turn intoa decent trigger with the set screw mod and clipping a couple cheap springs.

I believe mine was a Stag kit as well.
I like the idea of improved accuracy, also how you guys say it makes it a new gun--I can understand that.
Also, Greyling, I am not all that mechanically inclined, and I would rather install it when i assemble it. I wasn't even thinking of the RR, but the Chip or Timmy!! And the RR is much cheaper. I am very interested.
