AR 15 stripper clips?

I've never had a problem, either, using them with Pmags or USGI.

FWIW, I don't use my thumb to shove the cartridges down into the mag, I use the base of another magazine, a block of wood, something flat, pressed against the base of the cartridges, against the stripper itself... they flow right in. I can load a 30rd mag in about 10 seconds. I'm not sure why everyone has so many problems with them... I use the same technique with my 7.62mm cartridges and my M14 magazines, either directly into the magazine, or using the stripper guide on my M1a.

FWIW #2... I DO reload my strippers, then store them in a .30cal ammo can. Shooting sessions go much easier zip clip'in all the ammo into magazines over thumbing them in one cartridge at a time.

I guess refilling stripper clips could be a stormy day pastime… once the empty cases are all reloaded and the guns are oiled and put away. :)

Stay safe.

If you've never tried these and discount stripper clips, maybe try again. These are easier on the hands than the milspec design and also can be used as fire starters.

Not entirely true. They definitely work with P-Mags, and most plastic mags, though not all. The fit of the spoon is sometimes tight on plastic mags, but they go on most all of them.

I tried them on old Pmags and Hexmags, never got them to work when working ammo point detail. But this was also on gen 1 Pmags before they even got a patent number. So I am out of the loop on some things.

I have one 420-round can of M-855 that came packaged on stripper clips, all the rest of my 5.56 stash is loose.

I rarely use the rounds on the clips, they are just not all that easy for me to use.

Stay safe.

well, I have 1) 20 round box of factory ammo, and the rest will be reloads from brass that I already have. I found out right off the bat that I needed a small base die set, So I purchased an RCBS X DIE set. and I will now have to keep track of what brass goes with with witch rifle. but that shouldn't be that big of a deal (the other rifle is a single shot). it looks like the AR-LULA would be the easier of the two. so I will have to look into that. at this point I only have 4 magazines. but I am not sure if driving down the road with loaded magazines is legal in Michigan. so I have to find out if I can do that or not. if I can, that would help a little anyway, at least in the cold weather.
