So I have an Olympic Arms Version of the old service .22 LR and like it.

What I am wondering is why no one makes a .32 ACP adaptor for the 7.62x39 AR. Maybe a vz61 skorpion mag fixed in a mag or even just a Keltec ten shot for feeding

Seems like it would be a lot of fun.

Shoot I have been looking for a singles shot chamber adaptor like the old steel chamber inserts for various .
32 pistol ammo in .308 but for 7.62x39 can’t even find those.

7.62x39 was far cheaper than 32acp for soooo long, it probably just never came "on the radar" of the cartridge adapter crowd.
Not sure there's presently much in the way of a price break right now, either, eyeballing per round costs of 32acp and 7.62x39 ammo. As a guess, 327mg is not going to be any cheaper, either.

And, while the flow of Russian-made 7.62x39 is shut off, that's only about 1/3 of the 7.62x39 ammo market (the least expensive third, perhaps).

Those poor schmos with 5.45x39 may wind up with similar laments as the 30 french long crowd.

I should be saving my spare cash for fixing up a Jon Boat anyway…. as far as I know no one has their sights set on outlawing ancient Zebco 66s.

I got a '81 champion bass boat... I would trade for a single round of x39 if you come get it. It, uh, needs some work though.

I prefer spinning reels, but any old zebco will do too lol

I have a memory of seeing an AR-type rifle in .32 ACP back in the 1970s, maybe from Armscorp, listed in Gun Digest, but I've not actually examined one. I don't recall ever seeing a standardized upper.

There were some neat small game autoloading rifles made in Europe in .32 ACP -- Ian videoed a couple:

The .32ACP "AR-15s" were made in Italy by Armi Jager/Adler and imported by Mitchell Arms amongst others. I had one of the early .22 versions and it was shockingly accurate, though only modestly reliable.

Aside from the integral fake .223 magazine which served as a magwell for the real single-stack .22 mag, it was a pretty faithful reproduction right down to the A1 sights, charging handle/bolt, FCU, dust cover, and controls. Takedown was the same as an early "large pin" Colt AR/M16.

Even the bayonet lug was functional.
The .22s had a 10-round magazine, but thanks to the semi-rim on the .32, it only held 7 or 8 IIRC

Ive only ever seen ONE of the .32 guns and the shop that had it wanted stupid $$$$$.

I saw one of the 32acp “ARs” for sale in a local gun shop in the past year or so, they weren’t asking stupid money, just a bit more than I would pay for an AR in an odd caliber.

Big Blue 94,

well I checked you location just in case….

Dave,

Thanks for those Ian links

I handled one of the .32 Jagers in 1980.

I rather liked it. But The student that had it said it was his only rifle at FSU so he would not sell it. I seem to recall he had but one magazine for it and could not find more even then.

I must admit I was considering it as a suppressor host. Never did get a suppressor of my own. Later experience with a Savage 110 and shell shrinkers made me question whether a rifle length barrel in .32 ACP would reliably remain sub sonic.

I considered a .22 LR model to work with problem children among the Kaydets but in those pre internet days could not find one.

I still think some of out best training was with the CobRay adaptors in M-16a1 rifles.

Still enjoy plinking with an .22lr adaptor in AR-15s.

One reason I wanted a .32acp/7.62x39 adaptor was the reduced power and back stop needs I suspect a .32ACP round is easier to stop and won’t go as far as an M43 Round!
