I need a bullet that makes a big splash or dust cloud or gives me some indicator the steel was hit ? I only have one ear that works so I can't hear the hits. It is during a 3 gun match so others are shooting at the same time on other stages. The steel plates are big and heavy so they don't move much. Would a 69 grain be that much better than a 55 grain ? Would the 75 be even better ? The 308 works great but the recoil slows me down to much. Would a frangible give a dust cloud ? Are they hard on barrels ?

Thanks,Keith

Interesting problem. Short of blue tips incindiary I'd try to convince your club to use reactive steel

Are you allowed to paint the targets with paint? I've discovered that using flat black spray paint, actually shows the bullet strikes better than on a white painted target - it leaves a really noticeable gray/silver splash pattern on the plates.

Thanks

I don't think the paint will work because they don't paint the plates but one time. Reactive steel that would be the best by far but they are to tight to spend the money. I have shot on them at other clubs and love it.

I will try the 69 grain bullets would the 75 be even better ?

Thanks,Keith

Thats what I was thinking

As long as it will fit in the magazine and the cost is not to high. The most impact for the buck. Or the most clang for the buck,

Thanks,Keith
