What would your AR rifle care kit contain to keep it running ? ( springs, pins, detents etc).

A BCM rebuild, buffer spring and firing pin. Gas rings depending on the quality will last 5k rounds. I got a hold of some that were shot after 2k so there are different quality parts on all these items. Springs are what normally wear out if your shooting a lot. I normally have enough parts around to build a upper, but I'm messing with them all the time.

The rebuild kit should have:

Extractor
Extractor pin
BCM Extractor Spring
3 USGI Gas Rings
Crane Ind O-Ring (Mil-Spec)
Black Extractor Insert

Or just have you a spare Bolt Assembly (BCM) ready to drop it.

A spare assembled bolt (not BCG, just bolt) and firing pin. That takes care of basically everything that can cause an AR failure outside of catastrophic kaboom type stuff. A spare bolt and firing pin will fit inside of many grips, requires no tools to swap out.

At home, it wouldn't hurt to keep a spare LPK on hand, but failures of fire control parts are pretty rare. Usually extra LPK parts are needed when the thing is taken apart for whatever reason and detents or springs disappear into thin air.

Buffer springs last a long, long time. I'm still rocking the original in my Armalite M15A2C after nearly 20K rounds (original bolt with original extractor, too)

I had the same experience as MachIvshooter, all original everything, though with a few thousand less rounds. I have about 12000 on the 16" as is. I replaced the gasrings at 2000 or so, trying to track down a short stroke issue (gas block btw) The Tapco T6 stock that went in around 14000 ago has a spring that still requires more force than a new on the shelf M4. If worried, I would get a spare bolt, and forget about it until you need it. Maybe an an extra cotter pin/firing pin/cam pin too, not that the break easily, but they are easy to drop if you find yourself changing party in the outdoors. I know I never found a 1911 cam pin I lost while cleaning on a truckbed.
