Looking for a good sling to use on an AR-15 pattern rifle for hunting purposes. Using Google all I get are the single point tactical things. What is our there for just traditional carrying in the woods going to the stand

If you want a 2 point sling, try searching for "2 point AR sling". Tons of options come up. My slings are homemade, but are most similar to the Haley Strategic D3 sling.

I use the Magpul MS4 in my AR pistol. Use it as a single point on my 5-inch pistol. Two point on my 9-inch pistol. On my long barreled AR I just use more traditional slings and put traditional slings swivels or QD swivels as appropriate. I have a Quaker Claw with regular swivels on my 450 BM. My 30 RAR is just two spare sling swivels, a length of web strap and two side buckles that match the web width.

I once used a metal snap on military type sling and found a problem. It rattled and gave away my position.

I use the same, but prefer the un-padded Vickers. Really while hunting around here I'm wearing enough clothing to make padding moot. Another good option that I've started using on my non-AR15 hunting rifles is:

I've got them on a couple .22LRs and 3 of my Rem M7s. They're quick adjust, lightweight and not that expensive.

I have some other most costly slings (some custom, some nice leather from several companies, a few M1907s, as well as Blue-Force Vickers, and different styles of Magpul, some that can be configured in different manners for different carry styles) but the two that I keep coming back to are the simple, cheap, and effective Outdoor Connection SuperSling (I prefer the wider "SuperSling 2" for most rifles, but have one or two of the 1" ones as well)...I literally have dozens of these things and for more precise offhand shooting the Galco Safari-Ching slings (they're rather spendy, but good).

I use the V-TAC on all my "black rifles", even the ones that aren't black and even the ones I hunt with. I don't know why you'd want to use a different type of sling for hunting. Would make more sense to me if you wanted to use a tactical type sling on a non-tactical type rifle.
