So I'm reasonably familiar with AR pattern rifles, though all my experience is with 5.56mm rifles.

I found a deal I couldn't turn down on an AR10 from Palmetto State Armory ($600 AR10s? Seriously?), and I decided to disassemble the bolt carrier group and lube things properly during commercials today before I sight this thing in next week.

So I take everything apart, lube the bolt up properly, and start to reassemble it and while putting the extractor back into the bolt this spring fell out:

Now, it looks like it fits inside the other spring(s) in the extractor so maybe it goes there, but I never saw it before it fell out so I figured I'd ask the experts here rather than just guessing.

So, does it go here:

Or does it go somewhere else?
