AR15: Carbine-length stock (buffer tube) on a rifle-length gas system

Am I going to have problems with the buffer weight if I put a Magpul UBR on a 20" rifle?

So every butt stock configuration is compatible with every different length gas system? I ask because logic tells me that a carbine style butt stock will come with a carbine buffer while a rifle butt stock will come with a rifle buffer, so switching them around on different length uppers would seem to make them perform differently.

you can get carbine-length buffers that weigh the same as rifle-length buffers. it might be a little different even with just the carbine buffer/stock, but it's not going to cause problems

Indeed, you should be fine with a stock CAR buffer.

People run standard carbine buffers and telestocks on 20" rifle uppers all the time with no issues.

I also use a full length stock/buffer on several 16" carbine uppers with fine results.
