AR15 keyholing at short ranges

Rapid firing? Yes, like in 3-gun or USPSA type competition. I put out between 2-4 targets, and typically shoot double taps at COM. Run a drill or two, 4-8 rounds, then move to another position and do it again. I only load mags to 10 to slow the pace a bit....ammo is expensive ya know.

I'm using a shot timer, so it is: run a drill, take a break and reload mags, change things (tgt position, my position, etc), run a drill, run it again if not perfect...reload mags, etc.

Mags are standard black PMAGs (non window). I've been using the same 3 mags since I built the gun, for practice and matches. Never a problem.

Square? Didn't even cross my mind...it's a Dillon 650. No other guns to test the ammo in.

Timed properly? Yes, oriented the way it's supposed to be.

Hmmm, fired bullets...I'll do that after some load adjustments.

Mal, the keyholes you're seeing aren't keyholes. The range is basically a private bay per person. I have berms on three sides. When I move positions, sometimes I'm nearly even with the targets, giving me a very thin slice of target. That elongates the hole. See the target inset below...I shot from a position almost even with it, but directly to the right..maybe 15 feet.

As far as the curved bullet, I have no idea. The weirdest thing I've ever seen.
