Moving to NH from CA one of the first things on my "to do" list was getting an AR-15. I quickly bought a few stripped stag lowers but it wasn't until last spring that I got around to putting it together.

Getting the bench organized:

modifying the stock hammer to use the JP FCS:

after drilling out the J-spring:

setting up the JP fire control system, I went with the stock hammer and hammer spring to ensure reliability:

the AR as of last spring:

Flash forward to today... I'd shot it for basically a year, and it worked flawlessly, but I really don't like the ARMS#40L as a primary aiming device. I wanted to move up to a quality red dot but it took a while to find one.

Finally I found a deal on an Aimpoint CompM2 on a Larue LT-129 and it was too perfect to pass up.

Here it is, as it is currently set up:

if I'm not mistaken, the mid-length handguards with a 16" barrel retains the proportions of the 20" rifle, yes?

either way I like it. nice rifle.
