I'm look at doing an AR15 upper build and have been doing research on various parts of the upper to figure out what I want.
I want a flattop upper with bolt assist. Other than style, brass deflectors, and billet vs. forged, what is the real difference between upper receivers. Many of the major brands are very close to each other in price point. For example, most forged receivers come in somewhere around $100.
Is there anything I should look for in particular when selecting among these receivers?
