It seems like all of the polymer handguns are double stack (well, the only one I can think of that's not is the Glock .45 model of which I don't know the model #).

I was thinking a single-stack 9mm polymer handgun would be great for CCW purposes. Is there anything else out there that would meet these needs?

Or are the double-stack designs these days just about as slim as a single stack, so it's really a moot point?

Whoops - forgot about Kahr. And I feel especially dumb because a PM9 or CW9 are two that I'm very interested in.

Wilson Combat makes a KZ 1911 out of reinforced polymer, but is still the traditional single stack 45. Its not a 9, but certainly worth looking at.

The new Walther PPS is a single stack/polymer/9mm/40 S&W that should be available soon.

Is Austria part of America now???

D-Man,there are a lot of Sig P225/P6 German Police trade-ins out there right now.I understand they are single stack, but I do not know personally, maybe someone has one and can help. Also AIM and SOG have Walther P5 trade-ins,8 rd single stack 9mm....

They most certainly are single stack... and they most certainly are not polymer.

Original poster here......I think the question I posed didn't do a good job at what I was thinking at the time.

I was looking at the S&W M&Pc, and really think this might be something I am interested in. Now, this holds 12 rounds in a relatively short grip. I started to think it would be great if they had a single-stack model of the M&P, sort of like a polymer updated version of the 3913 or CS9.

Figure Glock could do the same thing to their G26, and other's could be done as well.

Then again, even with the thinner grip, the slide itself would still tend to be blocky, so maybe it wouldn't do much good.

The upcoming Walther PPS is pretty much what I have been thinking about - more of a sub-compact sized gun that's very thin.

Single stack polygun in 45 acp -- the only one that comes to mind is the Kahr. Check'em out -- they seem like nice guns ;)

Ruger P97 and P345 are both poly framed single stack .45...though the P97 isn't made and is just as wide as the double stack 9mm.

The P345 is thinner though :)

The P345 would get my vote. In fact it already did.

The P345 is very narrow. Might as well have a 45, if your going single stack! Heres my CZ75, P345 and P11 for size comparison.

Kel-Tec PF-9. I have read many reports and the only problem is still a very long trigger pull. Reports say slightly better than the P-11.

Walther just came out with a new single stack ploymer pistol.
