Are we going to lose the battle on background checks for every gun purchase?

If Republicans were as diligent and intent on passing pro gun legislation as the Democrats are about passing anti gun legislation, then we’d be able to buy machine guns and suppressors off Walmart shelves.

It’s very frustrating that the Dems only took two months to successfully pass anti gun legislation in the house, yet Republicans took two years and failed to deliver on the HPA, concealed carry, and anything pro gun whatsoever. I think the Republicans should have moved forward with the HPA after Las Vegas just to make a statement that one crazy nitwit and a bunch of rabid journalists and Dems will not derail pro gun legislation and deny law abiding citizens their rights.

The only reason most Republican politicians support gun rights is w/o most gun owners support they would not win any elections.
I promote it every chance I get. I frequently get censored on cleveland.com for doing so. Why? Because it's not about guns. It's about control, usually of Black and brown people, and frequently Jews.

I've previously related the story of the Holocaust cheerleading anti-gunner I encountered working as a cleaner in a Lakewood, Ohio McDonalds. He was no outlier.

Scratch an anti-gunner, find a Klansman... or a Nazi.

You can drop the H.... while trying to fight infringement on gun ownership rights in America. Talking about it changed nothing in that respect. As suitable replacement I suggest plight of Ukrainian peasants millions of whom starved in early 30s because all their food was confiscated by the Bolsheviks. I can suggest other examples if you want.

At no time have I brought up the subject of waiting periods, "cooling off" periods which occur after the UBC has been approved and the sale completed.

By changing the topic you have conceded to my arguments.

Touche'

But you did (post 176 and post 193), and then when called on it, instead of admitting you were mistaken, you doubled down.

Around here, no biggie, little bit of egg on the face, but no one much cares. In a debate with our opponents? Making that blunder and then proceeding as you have ruins your credibility with whatever audience you had. Our enemy is not stupid. Do not engage them in a battle of wits & information if you are not sufficiently armed.

Our enemy is not stupid.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that.

Deceitful and devious sure. Maybe even clever, but I can't think of a more fitting term than stupid for the individuals responsible for "the shoulder thing that goes up". And that is not even a unique instance of a public display of stupidity on their part. Its just one of the most entertaining and well known.

NO, I CAN'T drop the Holocaust.
  1. You have to know your audience. You don't shame racial Marxists with Stalin's terror famine. Hell, they ADMIRE it and were actively DENYING it in the '80s in the pages of "The Nation".
  2. Given the infiltration by rabid anti-Semites of the party pushing racially invidious gun control the hardest, you'd be a fool to ignore the parallels between 1933 Germany and 2019 America. Threats of nuclear genocide only seal the deal.
  3. I've read Conquest's "Harvest of Sorrow" and am currently reading Applebaum's "Red Famine". I've read numerous books on BOTH the Holocaust, the Stalinschina as well as the Japanese genocide in China.
  4. If you're against oppression (ALWAYS enforced through gun control), you can't limit your scope of its condemnation.

Any number of white supremacy groups, for one. The wing nut conspiracy theorist "black helicopter" crowd. Anarchist groups. Various cults..
The current major supporters of gun control are supporters or fellow travelers with those promoting the most loathsome anti-Semitism, misogyny and homophobia.

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't a couple of prominent NRA supporters who called Jews "termites".

I'm stopping this for a bit for staff discussion. It's going off the deep end.

Closed for the moment.
