Are you a brass chucker!! or are you nice and tidy

I still throw brass around once in a while. But most in my collection are Revo's

My revolvers also throw brass, in a nice star shaped pattern, as they get emptied.

So where does that leave me?

Not sure, I am still wondering if a six pack is an auto loader:eek:

Not as many chuck brass these days like they used to. There is always a brass scrounger lingering in the fringes.

Is this like a Woodchuck? Chucking wood?

I chuck brass all the time.

Chuck, chuck, chuck, chuck, chuck, chuck, chuck. D***, empty. :D

Walkalong, is that a 1911 that you are using there?

I'm both, but usually my brass spins about in a circle before I chuck it in a bag.

That’s beautiful. What is it?

Beretta Laramie topbreak, 45 LC, basically a Schofield New Russian without the funky trigger guard, 6.5" barrel. Period charcoal blueing, actual attention to detail/fit/finish, in other words pretty much everything every other modern production Schofield I've ever seen doesn't have.

You *will* pay through the nose for the privilege though, and it doesn't appear Beretta offers the 6.5" in blued any more. :(

I don't regret mine, other than maybe buying it in .38 instead of .45 for ammo costs alone but it's not a gun I shoot a box of every time I go to the range (or even bring out more than once or twice a year).

It and my Webley Mk IV round out my top break collection, haven't had any desire for any more.

I suppose I should add that anyone considering going the Uberti route for a cheaper top break does themselves a horrible disservice; besides being structurally different than the cheaper Uberti (which does not have the proper topscrew etc of the model) the blueing, metalwork, and wood on the two is like comparing a Hi-Point to a Colt Gold Cup. I was shocked at frankly how bad the Uberti was by comparison when handling one at the local Sportman's.

I'm a "Brass Rat"...I've gotten so good at it that my brass never hits the ground....I can catch them in mid-air and never take my eye off the target...

I'm "Nice and tidy" on both counts...:neener:

My Mark III throws brass 3 lanes over almost directly 3 o'clock and I'm so short it tends to come up under other shooters' hats. Therefore I always take the far right position if possible.

DH's M&P throws brass two feet left and 3 feet back with considerable precision. I haven't actually tried, but I've been tempted to just sit the brass bucket there and save the trouble of picking it up. (The range we belong to requires you to pick up centerfire brass but considers rimfire brass to be part of the gravel).

Even when using a revolver, I dump my brass on the ground when reloading. I don't want to find myself looking for the receptacle (a 3# coffee can is about the right size) during a gunfight. ;)

Mine goes everywhere. Sometimes it hits me in the head. I have very enthusiastic guns.

I have a 1911 as well as a S&W 625 in .45 ACP. Sometimes, I shoot
the autoloader better, other days it's the revolver.

and the other ones in order of preference
ALso, have a CZ 75B 9MM Luger
S&W 617 10 shooter 6" Bbl.
S&W 60 3" Bbl.
and a S&W 686P 4" Bbl. I don't care for much...

The Full moon clips are a good way to retain once
fired brass for trade.
