With the removal of state level preemption last year we all knew this was coming, well here it is. The cities of Boulder, Lafayette, Louisville and Superior are all discussing or have passed gun control measures that apply in their city limits. These are the same style of limits that stand statewide elsewhere so the courts will not help. (Assault weapons, Waiting periods, Minimum age, Open carry) The only way these laws go away is to elect different Council members or if by some miracle the Federal Supreme Court makes a gun decision.

Do you even know when your city or county council meets? Where can you view the itinerary? It matters now in CO.

Boulder - these passed: https://denver.cbslocal.com/2022/06/07/gun-violence-protection-ordinances-boulder/

FFLs, good luck keeping track of all the new laws and making sure you aren't violating one by selling to a resident of Boulder City. I'm sure you are in the crosshairs too.

For those of us living in East California, formerly known as Colorado, there is little hope for preserving our individual rights. Especially our 2nd amendment rights. Even the conservative parts of the state are being flooded with new immigrants for the western block states and the political landscape is moving left everywhere here. Colorado is a warning sign to other states of what can happen if you are taken over by radical left politicians. Voting is important and conservatives need to be involved and active in their states.

My family goes back in Colorado to the late 1800's.

I left the state two years ago. Removal of state level preemption is just another communist tactic to work against the freedom of the citizens.

They don't even hide their intentions anymore.

I can only hope for the Supreme Court to make a good ruling. I don't feel represented by my representatives in the local or state level.

I've said this before. Maybe here, maybe elsewhere.

About 5 years ago I told Son2 that in 10 years, we would not be able to own guns.

I saw it coming even long before that. Sorry to bring
in this downer, but unless we get off our duffs and stop thinking that the Second Amendment means anything, and get active, really active, in politics, each of us, individually, the 2A "guarantee" will be gone.

We also have to stop diddlying around and learn to call a Communist a Communist instead of "Liberal" or "Progressive" or "Forward Thinker" or whatever other euphemisms they've got us to use. ("Control the language and you control the issue.")

Oh, and "all politics is local." Significant concept !

If you really like to worry search for "repeal second amendment" and look at the people (including a Supreme Court Justice) that are actively working to take away your "rights".

Think about this and I'd be curious to hear your thoughts.

Many states have declared themselves to be "2nd Amendment Sanctuaries" . Let's say some ridiculous curtailment of 2A happens. What then? The state I am in and the people in my state will likely not comply. Who is going to come enforce some unconstitutional edict? The USA could get a mosaic of states and counties in some states that are likely not to comply. What then? I doubt any absolute anything will ever occur. At some point conflict will be assured. What do you think?

If in fact law is enacted or 2a is repealed military and national guard and state police will be fully empowered to enforce regardless of whether or not you think it is unconstitutional.
If 2a is repealed then it will no longer be a constitutional issue so “unconstitutional” will be moot.
If 2a no longer exists then 2a sanctuaries will similarly no longer exist.

Same in New Mexico.

Me, from a post above:

I note that at one time the number of "2A sanctuary States" was N = 0. Now there are N > 0. Why the increase; why any at all?

You use the term "ridiculous." To them it's "common sense."

Gun ownership is being subjected to Death by 1,000 cuts, little by little until the final objective has been achieved. Liberals are experts at it too.

And that's why.

To you (perhaps), it's "I will always be able to shoot tin cans off the fence from my back porch."

To them, it's "You're wrong, wrong, wrong, and the slaughter must stop!" with their bullhorns and superior door-to-door-knocking techniques and compliant news outlet editors and multi-billion dollar funding.

And that's why.
