Looks pretty good but 8.5 # for the double is no bueno. I like the internal magwell shape for sure. $1000 for a new piece with no aftermarket support is a tough ask.

I am pretty sure I shouldn't base my choice of gun on contingency money.

I don't think it was the gun that got him there as much as all the shooting/practice.

I think the cheapest pistol I use to win matches is a Glock. A decade or so ago STI would pay for wins if you were wearing one of their shirts during the match.

Good shooters can win with pretty much anything. Just look at the pros that get paid to shoot Sigs and Berettas in matches where that wouldn’t be their choice otherwise.
