Fly320s, in IDPA if you have to look real hard at a bullet hole it gets the higher score. Been on both sides of that many times. If I think its out I won't let the SO "give" it to me. I want what I've earned.
Sven, I have been the recipient of two wrongly given procedurals at the IDPA Nationals one year. I still went on to receive First Place in my class/division. I attempted to resolve the issue with the SO; but, he didn't want to look stupid so he just blew me off. The next day I took it up with the match director and he wasn't inclined to help either. I just knew I had been knocked out of the running for anything. We stopped by the range on the way back from eating in Memphis to find out the news. Doom on them. I was there to shoot. If I won anything, fine. It was sweet.
On the other hand we had a shooter at the OK State Championship last weekend who received a procedural and he got it the old fashioned way, he earned it. That didn't stop him from asserting his RIGHT to challange the call. It stuck. Later he was still talking about it. I talked to him about various things and found out that he was just a little high strung and nervous about the match. I am sure he will be a better competitor in the matches to come.
As long as people are SAFE and don't get NASTY I don't mind them questioning anything. After all, they have put down good money to be there and are spending quite a bit more in lodging, food, and transportation. And some are burning annual leave to be there, as I was last weekend.
