The really scary part of this is the erosion of freedom and the march toward a totalitarian progressive socialist regime that throughout history has been shown to produce body counts in the millions. The useful idiots, willing to give up the second amendment in favor of "reducing" deaths from "mass shootings" are blissfully heading down that path towards a government that sanctions violence against its own people to achieve its goals. Thankfully, I am seeing an awakening in Virginia as the people are standing up en masse at city council meetings, budget hearings and hopefully for the upcoming Lobby Day in Richmond to speak their mind.
The Virginia Civil Defense League (VCDL) is doing a great job of keeping people informed and organizing these events...but even more encouraging, I am seeing many groups spring up on their own to organize and spread awareness on not just gun matters, but other topics that affect our freedoms as well, including proposed election rule changes that could potentially keep the freedom hating left in power for decades to come. There are already efforts underway to oust the elected individuals that would rob of us of our freedoms in the next election. Too bad we were asleep during the last election when Bloomberg's financed campaign of lies energized their base giving the Democrats control in Virginia for the first time since 1986. But only 5000 votes gave them their so-called "Blue Wave", and the numbers present at each new locality considering a resolution to stand against Richmond would indicate that we can reverse that wave.
BTW, Virginia Beach has joined the ranks of localities in Virginia to become a Constitutional Second Amendment city. Hampton tonight!

To understand what's going on now you must go quite a way back in time.
For example, back in the early '70s - when the scientific consensus was that we were about to be wiped out by the oncoming Ice Age - the leaders of the panic wanted to reduce the population of the planet by at least 2/3rds. They acknowledged that they would have to disarm the common people before they could start to reduce the population to a manageable level... .
That panic died when folks started ignoring the whole mess. You see, Global Cooling didn't have an element of guilt that is necessary to drive a movement like this because cooling is merely a natural phenomenon, beyond the control of Man.
Now (Man-Made) Global Warming has LOTS of guilt to spread around. Every SUV driver is a terrorist. Air conditioning will kill us all.
Curiously enough, many of the leaders of the Global Cooling consensus are now leaders of the Global Warming consensus, with no explanation of what happened to their previous consensus.
Their goals remain the same.
Reduce the population to manageable levels - but they won't start this process until they have disarmed their targets... .
But - they must keep Gun Control separate from Global Warming or they would give their game away.
